The members speak
DaivajnaGroup; A journey
begun….
DaivajnaGroup, The begun
and we are still on the journey. The destination is too far for our journey. We
are still a baby learning to walk.
On Dec 14th
2003, the start flag was waved by Hemant Vernekar. Journey towards uniting Daivajna
people across the globe.
History:
Hemant always wanted
to create a stage where all the daivajna community, act and live together. And his
journey of uniting begun with creating a baby called DaivanaGroup. To start up with
Him started with some of his cousins and friends. And soon was joined by Dayanand
Vernekar, who also had similar ideas.
When group was created,
it was about getting more and more people to the march of the success and helping
people with whatever is possible within reach of the group.
The baby slowly started
growing and learning things. Soon more and more people started joining hands for
the journey.
By a year the group had
grown by 50 members. It was an achievement by itself to get so many people within
a year.
The group was already
on its way of acting its role in the growth of the community in its own way.
Group has always seen
exponential growth; it may be number of members joining the group or getting involved
in the activities.
Today the DaivajnaGroup
is about 300 members group, and still growing day by day.
Journey:
The group till now has
touched many families in the community directly or indirectly. Mostly non tangibly.
The group was 100 members
strong by about 2 years, and started growing exponentially.
Currently group is about 300 members. The group includes
people from all the walks of the life. It may be students, job seekers, employed,
retired or entrepreneurs. And journey continues.
Mile stones:
Group was started by Dec 14th 2003.
The group had its first get together on March 5th 2006. Around 35 members
were present in the meet. For most of the members it was meeting all new people
from the community for some it was day to meet cousins and family friends in pleasant
weather of Bangalore.
Next big thing was Daivajna Saanji, a cultural evening organized by Daivajna Offical
forum, Bangalore. The Daivajnagroup supported the event whole heartedly and gave
totally new look to the Daivajna Saanji. This was the day Daivajnagroup came in
front of the community as a group of people young people working for the community.
This night gave a boost to the Daivajnagroup to reach its height. This was the night,
when all parents wanted their children part of this Group.
May 7th 2006, the group tried its next step of Group Outing. About 16
Group members went on day’s trip to Nandi Hills.
June 2006 Group started with monthly meets. And it’s continued. The main goal of
the monthly meet was to meet and know new members, Mentor job seekers, helping needy,
supporting students also planning the road maps to the group.
Aug 2006 was day to remember in the history. This was the day DaivajnaGroup went
out on a day’s trip. This was just above successful.
By year end 2006, group had collected Rs 15000/- to contribute to the educational
support of the community needy student. 3 students were supported for their education
needs.
Same time group started with its one more task of helping people to find the match
for themselves or their siblings or family members.
These are the some of the group activities which discussed anywhere.

Group has constantly helped job seekers with reference, guidance
or job posting or mentoring.

Helped students to find academic projects, supported in studies.
·
Helped old friends to meet, who had not met for years.
